This Cream Solid Merino Wool Fisherman Beanie is crafted in our partner maglificio in Reggio Emilia. Our take on a classic style, the distinct fisherman style sits just above the ears making for a stylish yet functional beanie, especially in the mid seasons. The high quality merino wool used for these beanies ensures warmth without being itchy. This style of beanie is one of our very first original designs and has been our best seller since we started 40 Colori.
We source our merino wool yarn from Zegna Baruffa, one of the leading spinners in Biella, Italy's wool capital. We use Cashwool, their signature yarn. Soft, warm and durable; this yarn is made with extra-fine merino wool fibers measuring less than 19.5 micron sourced from responsibly selected Australian flocks. The raw fibers are then dyed and worsted spun entirely in Zegna Baruffa's vertically integrated facility at the foothills of the Alps.
All of our knitted scarves and beanies are crafted by one skilled artisan in his organized maglificio. Maurizio’s workshop is located near Reggio Emilia, 170km from our base, at the heart of an artisanal district praised for quality knitwear manufacturing. In his small but very tidy workshop, Maurizio runs five mechanical flat knitting machines which he uses to craft all our scarves, beanies, and jacquard knitted ties.
