  • This Burgundy Striped Wool Fisherman Beanie is crafted by our artisans using Cashwool yarn, soft and durable extra-fine merino wool sourced from one the top suppliers in Biella, Italy's wool capital. The distinct fisherman style sits just above the ears making for a stylish yet functional beanie. The high quality merino wool used for these beanies makes them very warm and not itchy as the yarn has been been spun to perfection. This style of beanie is one of our very first original designs and has been our best seller since we started 40 Colori. We have updated our classic solid fisherman beanie with this edition featuring a small set of stripes along the border in a complementing light rust hue.

We source our merino wool yarn from Zegna Baruffa, one of the leading spinners in Biella, Italy's wool capital. We use Cashwool, their signature yarn. Soft, warm and durable; this yarn is made with extra-fine merino wool fibers measuring less than 19.5 micron sourced from responsibly selected Australian flocks. The raw fibers are then dyed and worsted spun entirely in Zegna Baruffa's vertically integrated facility at the foothills of the Alps.

Maglificio di Maurizio

All of our knitted scarves and beanies are crafted by one skilled artisan in his organized maglificio. Maurizio’s workshop is located near Reggio Emilia, 170km from our base, at the heart of an artisanal district praised for quality knitwear manufacturing. In his small but very tidy workshop, Maurizio runs five mechanical flat knitting machines which he uses to craft all our scarves, beanies, and jacquard knitted ties.
